I have researched this Question and abiotic and biotic factors have a big impact on composition of fresh water like dead trees and other things that fall in to the water different animals can affect it to like if they kill other animals and if they regurgitate food they have just ate. (humans can also affect the composition of the water like pollution and regurgitating things too)

If you would put a factory next to a fresh water source the gases that comes out might be deadly for the fishes that lives there and the might drop chemicals and electronics into the water which will also maybe kill the fishes, if they die the water will not be fresh anymore.
